Grant Proposal: Chinese New Year Celebration for the DLI Program

Xiao Li

Review

This grant proposal presents a community-centered project that is aimed at supporting the Chinese Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program through an annual Chinese New Year celebration. The request for $2,300 is justified, as it focuses on purchasing materials for costumes and decorations that can be reused each year, making it a sustainable investment. The proposal highlights the dual purpose of the event: creating an authentic cultural experience that enhances language learning while also serving as a fundraising opportunity to support future student travel. The focus on thoughtful student participation, cultural education, and community involvement makes this a very engaging project.

While the proposal is strong, providing a more detailed plan for how much money the event is expected to raise each year would make the financial sustainability aspect even stronger. If you included an estimated fundraising goal or a trackable fundraising plan, it could help funders better understand the long-term impact of their investment.

The evaluation plan is implied through participation and engagement, but adding specific methods to measure success—such as the number of attendees, total funds raised, or feedback surveys from participants—would make the outcomes more tangible. Funders often appreciate concrete metrics to gauge a project's effectiveness.

Overall, this is a well-conceived and meaningful proposal that connects culture, language learning, and community in a creative way. With slight expansions in the fundraising, evaluation, and community partnership details, it would be even more compelling to potential funders.

Grant Proposal: Empowering Health Science Faculty: Building Instructional Excellence through Continuing Education

Danielle Opp

Review

Your grant proposal is written well. It explains how having continuing education will improve healthcare training. It aims to enhance student learning outcomes and promote a culture of instructional innovation within the health sciences and show why those are all important. The proposal includes details about the program design, delivery methods and the instructors that will be used. The plan to have an online delivery method as well is very thought out considering some students are remote learners these days.

Some areas do need improvement to make the proposal stronger. The proposal doesn't mention how much funding will be needed to sustain this entire project. By adding this information, funders could understand the program’s impact and support. The evaluation of this program wasn't there either, so how would funders know that this program is actually doing what you have said it will do. A more detailed timeline with specific start and completion dates for activities will also make the plan clearer. Checking how your site is formatted as well will make this an easier read as well. Making these changes will improve your chances of getting funding and ensure the program has a bigger impact on those looking to fund your program.
